I am doing a blog……just once every month…..

Woof woof! ( I’m trying to think of creative ways to greet you)? ahaha! It’s SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrRrrrRrrrrrRrrRrRRrrrR !!!!!!!!!!!!!

YO…..HELLO, HEY- HOW YA DOIN’?! It’s summer, summer, gotta get down in summer-I hate that song and am wondering where they are going to ‘get down’ to?…..And the line:” which seat do I take/sit in?” It makes you think, like, those are the ‘hard’ decisions she makes each day, I’m like, “is that what she really spends her time thinkin’ about?”…..I mean….when I get in a car, the first thing I think is something along the lines of: ” lets get the hell outta here and have a good time”…….Anyway…..Summer seems like the most savoured and popular season for the fashion industry. It’s about the end of February and all these shops, ASOS, topshop are advertising with the headlines promoting the ‘fact’ that: ” It’s spring, summer’s nearly here!” And I’m like: ” What? We’ve hardly got into spring yet!”…. So fashion must be pretty desperate to get into the bloomin’ fresh breeze of spring- to blow away all our camel capes and faux fur gilets, but NOW it really is summer. It’s time to start really building on your summer wardrobe! Throw on your denim cut offs, a metallic leather satchel, brush the hair outta yow’ face- with a hip patterned head tie, esperadilles on and get ready for the  festival season thats leaping out of every shop window and boomin’ outta every boombox! It’s all about new lengths, shapes, textures and patterns, getting that ecletic, but embelished look – using romantic seventies maxi’s (as well as a floppy sun hat), with sheeer kaftans, minimal,chic-simple and subtle. Fringing, crochet and all that jazz, mixes up different unique styles: tie it, style it and rock it. Tousles hair and creative, charasmatic face paints/make up. Slap on your neons and lets get the party started!

I’ve got alot to pack in this one, so we’re gonna have to be quick. I’ve got some things we’re gonna cover:

– Petite crochet insert dress. – why we love it?

– Cream ladybird print bow headband. – why we love it?

– Denim :shades, prints, shapes and pairs.

-funny sunnies

– bright brouges

– Sheer and pleats, on why it’s fine to show skin.

– festival fashion: from fringing and crochet , to white and tie die :letting layers and textures take over and playing with lengths, that eclectic look and levels!

-the tie front.

So lets get started! :cD

This season has been piles upon piles of new, revoloutianary style that’s definatley here to stay. Which is good. But hard to pack into one blog, when you’ve still got a dozen million things to do already, but thats just life. So we’ve got  festival fashion, with all this exuberant and decadent intricate detail, gypsy style traveller fashion, colour blocking -with pop coloured chinos and trousers, summer is well and truley underway! 🙂

Petite crochet insert dress. I saw this dress ages ago in TOPSHOP and was like : ” WATEVA” , no I wasn’t, just joking. I was actually like : ” OMG, that is utterly sublime! ”  Although I don’t have it yet – I’ve got my fingers crossed. It’s the kind of dress that can just pass for afternoon tea.  White was all over A/S 11, from graphic whites teamed with metallics and edges to pale retro crochets, paired up with rebel denims and creams.  When you wear just one colour- (white is a good example) the shapes and effects the layers and shadows are emphasised, because there are no other colours to focus on.Why we love it :

-With it’s girly flowers ( that can be worn with a leather jacket for edge, some broguoges, or some chunky heels, with socks) and stubborn ways, it’s hard to miss.

– It is white: that minimal look that was all over the catwalk! This season, white is an absoloute essential. Team with sharp edges and pleats.

– It ticks a box in our festival fashion look, crochet, duh?

– It shows skin, a flick of tiny skin can do no harm, for summer keep things warm, thin and erratic.

– And guess what? It’s in petite ( that’s just a bonus).

Cream ladybird bow head band. I’m really up for abit of head gear at the moment and eager to update my collection (of one piece) and this headband is just the thing: just down right uthsssuuummm?!  Headscarves have silently, but firmly (over the years) made those differences in the look of the season, from florals to botanicals and  animals, these scarves rocked the runway. They first became popular in wartime, trying to encourage those women to help in the war, they were a quite a favourite of Audrey Hepburn, featured in Vivienne Westwood’s collections, recently some examples were in Dolce and Gabanna ( D and G) and Alexander Mcqueen even have their own scarf boutiqe! View Topshop for more scarfs and head stuff. Why we love it :

– It’s summery : it has summer flare, not thick, just thin and translucent, light and easy to wear.

– It’s girly. There’s nothing like a good flourish to give your edge a feminine touch.

– It’s festival-ly. We’re up for our most enigmatic stand out sunnies, a floppy hat and some of the  head stuff to keep our hair out of the way – so we can see whats going on.

– The pattern : nonchalant, easy going and stylish, this lady big print not only gives you some vintage style, but also gives you some botanical trendy- ness-iosity.

<- DenIM nONcHalANCe :

Denim’s pretty simple, but is there more to it ? Duh, of course there is, a hole lot more! simple block colours (see for sports max, or Jil Saunders), shapes and sporty cuts were shown on the A/W11, but when Isabel Marant splashed her collection with sun-blushed candy cane pink (which replaced blue hot pants) we REALLY realised that denim isn’t just denim, it’s a piece of clothing with a huge range of colours that aren’t mostly being used- so if you’re just bare sick of your leggings, flip on some summery brightly-coloured denim hot pants. Teamed with a varasity jacket (see Topshop, asos and most designers) , or even a chunky cable knit jumper. To be honest, I would rather wear a coral (coloured) denim hot pant, with a cropped leather gilet, or an embroided green-y turquoise high-waisted denim short with a lose sheer romantic blouse.

                                                                – I’ve GOt My FunnY SuNnIeS ON!          BJ

Worn in any way possible, in different varieties, shades, shapes, sizes and with different accesories, sunnies are absolutley and utterly the summer staple, here are two of my favourite sunnies that are good to have around and are fresh from the runway, from bold twisting retro’s to statement tortoiseshells and cat eyes, no more squinting I say!

ASOS Half Frame Cat Eye Sunglasses<–cat eye sunnies, keep the look sharp, feminine and high-haired. Worn in Dior (I loved their collection full of bright colours and girly fringes!) These are the sunnies for that fashion statement, or for a less dauntingly slick black edge, have the Dior’s playful pink muto-one pink colour pop sunnies –>

I for a fact, really prefer a hippie look, with the 60’S/70’S style festival rock round keyhole sunnies———————————->

Ah yes, the delight of brogues, brogue-y boots and all that jazz: team with Masculine quilted jackets, creamy socks pleated shorts and a logo tee, or pair metallics to give a modern turn to a decadent laced outfit. Watch out for metallics this season, leather and streaked across festival wear! Enjoy the colours of life!
Get sheer darling, the pleats are underway………
From Chole, Valentino and Celine- to Lanvin and Richard Nicoll
The vintage-inspired and romantic floor sweeping gowns were hip riders on the runway,
flashes of skin, or less daunting with Dolce and Gabanna’s short-shorts (or knitted ‘big pants)were less exposing under the sheer maxi’s.—-><—–Christopher Kane’s A/W 11

Kate Moss appeared in Louis Vuitton’s collection wearing the big pants/mossy bloomers with a sexy-lace tight fitting shirt just on the topic…….. Richard Nicoll worked a successfull pleated paysuit, showing sun-blushed legs. Lace alongside these trends proved to be very popular…although Christopher Kane showed a cute, summery candy pink ne0n-popp-y and  less head-to-toe-romantic white and instead balanced coloured pleats and lace.

Rock fest, all about gypsy style, tribal, festival style, embellishment, layering and textures! Dig intothe best trend settler……

bright inventive tribals/mexicans with english chic lace/crochet whites and go for tight crafts with colour clashes! Exotic, playful, pastels and fruity prints give style a twist, then pile some kitsch, high waists and tassels…let the party begin. Let rock festival punk style give leather a metallic touch, keep boyish, attention seeking shapes be overcome ( but still shining through) by little, though effective, girlish pieces. Metal collar tips- I prefer gold metal, are the ulitimate cherry on top, to give an outfit a sharper edge (ASOS have a gorgeous one——>) Free spirited and go-with-the-flow looks are created by festival friendly: frayed denim, tie dye mania with swirling and striking hippie tones, piles of free jewlerry- some big and bold, others subtle, but continued. Simple styles with navaho fringing and sporty shapes make casual. Toughen up a flouncy chiffon piece with a chic minimal, but edg-ily fresh….Go for crochet kimonos, cardis, or vests, also have a pair of crochet cool hotpants –^ (See above), or (TOPSHOP’s) black and multi-colour hot pant for a more mexican look. Fringing is also a MUST this season, fringe with simples for a craft look, get your fringe on….
Head dresses (particularly with feathers)…….

When mixing texture from different types of the world, such as: a tribal navaho/ flowery embroidered pattern, with a crochet blouse, a feminine collar is created, with a playful bright look pairing various textures and trends. Mix pretty embroidery with cut off shapes and softening pastel shades and embrace new, freshprints layering sheer, witha underlayer and a sporty, but chunky knit.Watercolour prints make eclectic looks easy…Layering is easy to achieve: use thin materials with corresponding patterns to create textures that emphasise the difference in materials… When using prints: go for toned florals, with bold oriental pattern. Make a modern, polished and stylish look with tiny dotted maxi dress, mixed with a cropped, lace, bold wide striped cardigan, or let flashes of skin show, where you have let the patterns breath – with a sophisticated crop tie front and tropical chinos, though, keep shapes simple, by using bolder to prints to overcome them ( take note of Prada).                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      pull it, twist it,flick it, bop it…….
