(Get ready for) Autumn Preview: Heritage and Androgyny….

Before we leap into our faux fur gilets for Autumn/Winter it’s time to slowly creep into a even cooler season, starting with some less gourdy and colour popping looks………

The pleats of spring (Celine, Chloe) are still hangin’ on and contribute to autumn’s preppy heritage look. Paper bag shorts/skirts, ankle grazing trousers and tweed blazers are patterned with tartan, or checks in the richest colours: navy, mustard and brown. Add a feminine touch and flourish with pussy bows, collars and blouses to channel the classic, but bitterly posh style.

Androgyny also leaps to the scene. It’s time to get your lines straight and plant yourself in a precision-cut blazer, some tailored trousers and a buttoned shirt. Sheer gives the look a soft touch, though tight leather adds some boyish charm; pull on high waisted trousers and a boxy collar and you’re good to go (as seen in: Eliot Atkinson and Peter Pilotto’s A/W11).
